Health Information Days

The Health Information Days 2010 will be held on November 13th and November 14th and will focus on Chinese, Turkish and Serbian migrants:

- On November 13th, the Austrian Commission for UNESCO will organize the Health Information Day with the Serbian and Turkish communities at the Association of Viennese Youth Centre, Schlachthausgasse 30/7, 1030

- On November 14th, in cooperation with the Association of European-Chinese Society of Medical Health Communication (ECSMC) the Austrian Commission for UNESCO will organize the Health Information Day with the Chinese community at Schulschiff, Donauinselplatz 1, 1210 Vienna.

Furthermore, this event serves as an informal platform for migrants to seek advice on personal health problems as it also offers information and advice in various languages.

Go4Diversity Attendance at the Symposium Migrations: Interdisciplinary Perspectives  

Go4Diversity attended the Symposium Migrations: Interdisciplinary Perspectives held at the University of Vienna on July 1-3, 2010. Organised by Renée Schroeder and Ruth Wodak, the Symposium was dedicated to the discussion of the multiple interdisciplinary dimensions of ‘migrations’, both from the viewpoints of the Social Sciences and Humanities as well as from the manifold perspectives of the Natural Sciences. It was an opportunity to meet a number of prominent plenary speakers, panelists, NGOs, journalists, and politicians and exchange views on the theme migration.

Go4Diversity Attendance at the ACUNS 23rd Annual Meeting in Vienna

Go4Diversity participated at the ACUNS (Academic Council on the United Nations System) 23rd Annual Meeting held in the City of Vienna on June 3-5 2010. Apart from its Project Manager Mr. Aliyou Mana Hamadou, the project Go4Diversity was also represented by Ambassador, rtd. Dr. Eva Nowotny, President of the Austrian Commission for UNESCO, Dr. Gabriele Sauberer, General Secretary of TermNet (International Network for Terminology), who, together with Dr. Anja Drame und Dr. Henrike Paepcke presented a roundtable on the title: "Cultural Diversity and the UN: Old Implications and new Challenges".

Go4Diversity Attendance at the World Diversity Leadership Summit

Go4Diversity was present at the World Diversity Leadership Summit (www.wdls.eu) which took place in Vienna from 11th to 12th March 2010. During the two days summit Go4Diversity was represented by the Project Coordinator Dr. Gabriele Sauberer who intervened as the facilitator of the Panel 2: Managing gender, sexual orientation and disabilities in the workplace and marketplace and the Project Manager Mr. Aliyou Mana Hamadou who appeared at the Summit as an attendee. The World Diversity Leadership Summit was an opportunity to meet and interact with global diversity CEOs, policy and decision makers, corporate practitioners, academics, media, etc. to share their experiences, research findings, strategies and best practices on global diversity and inclusion.
